A TABLE TOP AFFAIR

“I think that a lot of people who have been in Church say hospitality is not my gift...we all have it. Hospitality is basically just showing up for people.”

It's our last episode of the Relationship Series! It wasn’t planned, but, y’all, I feel like we’re going out with a bang. In this last episode, we have the pleasure of introducing you to Abby Turner. Abby is the voice behind the blog and social media account “A Table Top Affair” and author of The Living Table - Recipes & Devotions for Everyday Get-Togethers. She is a single lady who is passionate about Biblical hospitality and the role we all play in bringing people together, no matter your relationship status. Abby walks us through her singleness journey and how she developed this love and heart for hospitality. Finally we take a deep dive into the significance of the table. Gathering together in community is essential not only to our mental and emotional well-being but also our spiritual health. I’m pumped to share her story with all of you.

I am so thankful. I’m thankful for this relationship series. I am thankful to do this podcast and have the opportunity to do cool things for Jesus like this interview with Abby. I hope our conversation has helped you to see hospitality in a different light, especially if you were like me and thought, nah, that’s not really my thing.  But it is our thing, all of us. I hope that you view your table differently as well, that you see it not only as a place to be with your family, but also as a central place to be with Jesus and bring others in on that.

Y’ALL! I strongly recommend you go buy Abby’s cookbook and devotional The Living Table now. It’s gorgeous, and simple, and inspiring.  You can find it on DaySpring, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. Let’s root Abby on as she is stepping out and being brave by putting this book and her giftings out into the world for Jesus.

You know we had to go ahead and try out the recipe Abby suggests in the podcast! My mom, sister, and I gathered together and rocked it. Yes, it took a little extra time. But was it worth it? Oh yes! This was definitely one tasty treat.
