WELCOME TO TRUST FALLS & HIGH KICKS

YA’LL!  Welcome to the Trust Falls and High Kicks blog!  I am super excited you are here and am ready to kick off this journey of finding hope and joy through all life’s messes...see what I did there...pun 100% intended.

Trust Falls & High Kicks is a space to help guide people to joy, vulnerability, and hope through our stories, with a few giggles along the way.  “Trust Falls,” besides just being a fun thing to say, has a double meaning for me. It’s about obedience and hope and, of course, trust. Trusting is hard.  Being obedient to God’s leading, stepping out in faith, and hoping it will somehow work out, well, that’s super hard too. Sometimes we just have to let go, take the risk, trust, and fall.

As for “High Kicks,” well, I’m kind of a big deal in this area. *hair flip  I am globally known for all my high kicking. Really excited about something = high kick!  Frustrated about something = kick! Popular yet dangerous dance move = all the HIGH KICKS! So besides the literal meaning, “High Kicks” is also about living a life filled with hope and joy!  When you’ve done the trust fall, whether you come out unscathed or not, hope and joy are there. Hope in what’s to come and in the redemption and salvation we have in Jesus. Rejoice because it’s in our DNA, plus how cool is this life we get the privilege to live!  We all need more high kicks in life…both figurative and literal.

As you and I move through this journey together, I will share all about the trust falls and high kicks in my life.  Believe me I’ve had some doozies, and I’m sure they will keep on a’coming. Here’s the kicker (wow, they just keep coming!), I know, without a doubt, that I have gone through all that crap for a reason.  Maybe it’s just to share with you, who will read my story and say, “oh, wow, me too” and will find hope in the storm you may be in the middle of. OR maybe it’s just to entertain and bring some much-needed laughter and joy to your day.  I know it’s made me a better person. I have wisdom, depth, and clarity that I couldn’t have had if I hadn’t gone through the hard. I also have a deep hope and joy that could only have come out of me going through all of that darkness. So here I am, putting myself out there, taking the risk, doing the trust fall in hopes that God is going to use it all for His glory because that’s the whole point.
